There has been a recent trend in male and female health that is being called “the anti-porn movement”. This is because hardcore porn is so readily accessible to men and women, and even children. In 2 clicks, they can be on the most hardcore website on the internet. This is affecting how guys learn to have sex, their sex drive, and their ability to maintain an erection and healthy relationship. This movement has been named “NoFap”.
I’m going to delve into this trend, how excessive porn use affects your body, and what you can do to minimize the harm done in this thing called a “reboot”. Read more to find out.
Why Is Too Much Porn Bad?
Too much of anything is always bad for you – but why is porn bad? Porn in moderation is a perfectly healthy and normal thing to do.
Watching porn releases dopamine in your brain – this is what is addictive. It is the same thing that many drugs release that keep you coming back for more. The more frequently you start watching porn and masturbating, the more you become reliant on it. You are always searching for that next “high”. This is what leads many guys down a path of watching extremely hard core stuff and sometimes even illegal stuff. It is because the lighter, more harmless porn has completely worn off on them and doesn’t effect them anymore.
When you have reached this level it is sometimes difficult for a lot of men to maintain an erection or become stimulated in real life relationships with sexual partners. We are raising an entire generation of boys like this and it is going to have lasting health effects, confidence effects, and we have no idea how it is going to affect people’s future relationships in the long term.
My Experience:
For me, I started noticing some of these traits and I could no longer maintain an erection when I was with my girlfriend. This is extremely embarrassing and I’m sure some of you guys can relate. This was literally because my brain had become programmed to want more extreme stuff, with 10 different partners every night. (This is the effect porn has on you, technically your brain is trying to mate with every porn star that you see on screen).
The Good News:
The good news is that all of this is preventable and reversible. It takes about 90 days to “reboot” as they call it. In this 90 day period you have to completely abstain from watching any form a porn, you cannot masturbate, and you cannot “edge”. (Edging is getting to just before the point of orgasm and not finishing, this is even worse that finishing because it keeps your dopamine levels at a constant high without any release, making the problem even worse). Although you can have real sexual relations with your partner. If you don’t have a partner then you are out of luck.
Men who have gone through this reboot have their erections back, their sex drive back, their confidence back, and ultimately their health back. It is an amazing process.
